From Cai Be to Can Tho and vise
versa
One night in the Mekong on board of the Bassac |
Bassac, the ideal to visit Mekong Delta of the
interior, with comfort and with style. On board Bassac, you will

front of a splendid landscape, the night on the river in the medium

Day 1 – SAI GON-CAI BE 102 kms
- At 8h00 the driver will pick you up at your
hotel
- Transfer without guide by car from Sai Gon to Cai Be (2h30 minutes
for the road)
- You embark about midday on Bassac with Cai Be (access on board
by a light boat), installation in your cabin.
- At 12h00, traditional lunch on board whereas Bassac weighs the
anchor
- And finally, Bassac crosses the Co Chien river upstream then enters
the channel of Cho Lach for 30 minutes through traffic of barges
of rice and sand, in a decoration of driers with fruits and shipyards
for boats out of wooden, high-school girls on their bicycle.
- Then visit of a village in the trees, close to the rice plantations.
The reception of the peasants is cordial and their arms charged
with fruits.
- Dinner finally on the way: a selection of delicate specialities
of the Delta

Day 2 – CAN THO-SAI GON 160 kms
- Having breakfast at 06h30
- Arrival in Can Tho at 08h00
- Taking a small boat, visits of a market floating of the interior
then to borrow the shaded streams of water coconuts to return to
Can Tho by the longest way round.
- End of the services of Bassac towards 10h30
- Pick up by the driver and return to Sai Gon
- End of Binhtours’service

Day 1 – SAI GON-CAN THO 160
kms- 4 h
- At 7h00 the driver will pick you up at your
hotel
- Transfer without guide by car from Sai Gon to Can Tho
- You embark about midday on Bassac with Can Tho, glass of welcome,
installation in your cabin.
- At 12h00, lunch is used and departure towards the downstream of
the Bassac river. We pass to the market floating of Tra On Junction
in the river Mang Thit towards the river of Co Chien per hour of
the nap.
- Rest on the bridge or around the bar by enjoying the landscape
of rice plantations, canes with sugar and the wooded banks.
- Then, visit of a village on the bank of the river Mang Thit, an
occasion to approach the way of life and the hospitality of the
inhabitants of the area. Visits of the orchards or the rice plantations
neighbourhood.
- Re-embarkation, glass of reception to the return on board. The
bar is opened, rest on the bridge to lay down it sun.
- The crew serves the dinner whereas Bassac is on the way on Mang
Thit towards its point of anchoring for the night. Bassac is put
at the anchor for the night on the river Mang Thit.
- Night on board Bassac.
Day 2 – CAI BE-SAI GON 102 kms
- Wake up, Bassac is close to Long Vinh, where the breakfast is
been useful starting from 6h30.
- Départ towards Cai Be. Having breakfast while benefitting from
the landscape from the banks. Bassac crosses the Co Chien river
upstream then enters the channel of Cho Lach for 30 minutes through
traffic of barges of rice and sand, in a decoration of driers with
fruits and shipyards for boats out of wooden, high-school girls
on their bicycle..
- Arrival in Cai Be
- Restitution of the cabins and transfer on a lighter boat for a
visit of the market floating and of artisannant of Cai Be.
- Pick up by the driver and return without guide in the car in direction
of Sai Gon where you arrive in the late afternoon.
